Nobix Alert Server runs on a Windows system. The server receives alert message requests from the Messaging Interface or from command line alerters running on other systems. The alert messages are then sent to the chosen distribution. The server also installs one desktop pop-up alerter and one command line alerter on the same machine as the server. The server includes the messaging interface and the deployment program necessary for installing, configuring and using Nobix Alert, as well as remotely installing the desktop pop-up alerters.

Nobix Alert pop-up alerters run on Windows desktops. This is the software that receives alerts from the Alert Server and displays the alerts in front of the user.

Nobix Alert command line alerters (named nAlert) may be incorporated into your applications, event monitoring systems, and background or command line processing, which would then allow those processes to directly alert desktops through the Alert Server. nAlert is available for UNIX, Linux, Windows, and MPE/iX.
