Nobix Alert Receiving a Pop-Up Alert The Nobix Alerter desktop pop-up software runs on the user's PC and is started when the user logs on to the PC. This software runs quietly in the background and displays its icon in the system tray. When the Alerter receives an incoming alert message from the Nobix Alert server, the message options included in with the alert determine the display configuration of the alert. The basic configuration is a HTML browser dialog displayed as the top-most window with an Accept and a Dismiss button, with 5 beeps, one per second. The Nobix Alert server logs the time that the alert was received at the desktop. Pressing the Accept or Dismiss buttons causes a message to be sent to the Nobix Alert server indicating the user's action. See the document Sending a Message to view all messaging options. Nobix Alerter for the desktop may be installed directly using the supplied or downloaded executable setup program. Additionally, Nobix Alerter may be installed from the Nobix Alert server using the included deployment program. Using the deployment program results in a remote silent install on the user's PC. An activation key is not required for the Alerter. Licensing is controlled on the Nobix Alert server. Nobix Alerter is supported on all versions of Windows from XP and later. |
