Nobix Alert Stored Message Text The Stored Text pane is used to manage stored text messages and phrases in the Nobix Alert system. Stored text may be included in repetetive and schedule messages.
The Stored Text pane is made up of two parts, the Available Stored Text list and the Text Edit Box. Available Stored Text This list displays the contents of the Stored Text table. It shows the name under which the text is stored, the beginning portion of the associated text, and the last time the text was modified. Adding a new entry To add a new stored text entry, on the Action menu click New Text Item. A new entry is added, given an auto-generated name, and becomes the current selected entry in the list. Single-clicking on the text name allows the entry to be renamed to the desired entry name. Modifying an existing entry Selecting an existing entry displays the entired text in the lower Text Edit Box, thus allowing it to be modified. Press the Save button when changes are complete. Pressing the Discard button undoes any changes since the last save operation. Text Edit Box The Text Edit Box is used to add and modify text stored under the selected Text Name value. HTML source is generally the type of text required. Plain text without HTML tags may be used, and will appear as plain text in the alert pop-up. Pressing the Display Design View button opens a browser window, which may be used to verify the desired "look" of the message. The browser window is read only and is updated as the edit box is changed. Since the pop-up alert window the user sees is a web browser, the contents of the HTML message may be simple outbound messages, or may contain links and other HTML constructs. Links may direct the pop-up alert user to an actual web server. The alert pop-up has no address box for URL entry, and cannot be used to navigate to any site other than those provided for in the original HTML message. Once text modifications have been made, the Save button must be clicked in order for the text changes to be committed.
