Downloading & Installing Nobix Alert Server on a Windows computer
- Click the Nobix Alert
link.
- Click the Nobix Alert Server
download link.
- Do one of the following:
- To run the self-extracting setup for Nobix Alert immediately upon completing the
download, click Open.
- To copy the download to your computer for setup at a later time, click Save. When
prompted, specify the directory into which you want to save the Nobix Alert installation file.
- To cancel the download, click Cancel.
- If you have not already done so above, run the Nobix Alert self-extracting setup
file you downloaded. You can do this by running the setup application you downloaded
at a command prompt or double-clicking the file in Windows Explorer.
- During the extraction process, the WinZip Self-Extractor appears. Click Setup.
- Once the files are extracted, the Nobix Alert Server Setup Wizard appears. Follow
the on-screen instructions to install Nobix Alert Server on your computer. These
instructions include entering the software activation key that either you generated or was provided to you.
- After the Nobix Alert Server installation completes, you may run the Deployment
program to remotely install the desktop pop-up software on other Windows PCs. Note
that by installing the server software, you have also installed the pop-up software
on the same system as the server. The deployment program may be found at:
Start→All Programs→Nobix Alert→Deployment
- Run the Messaging Interface, Distribution tab, to configure one or more recipients
for alerts.
- Use the context sensitive help on that page for instructions.
The Messaging Interface may be found at:
Start→All Programs→Nobix Alert→Messaging Interface
- Use the Messaging Interface, Send A Message tab to send a test alert to an entry
in the available alert recipients.
